dave s 0 #1 Posted October 7, 2008 I'm trying to find an oil filter for the trans., I took the number from the WS. parts book to NAPA., they do not stock at warehouse. Does anyone have a Fram Purolator, or other manufacturer part # ? Thanks dave s PS. I got the engine filter no problem.
Nick 13 #2 Posted October 8, 2008 These are hydraulic filters and while you can get them in a good wix or other quality aftermarket brand I prefer to just go to the dealer. Not sure if its the warm fuzzy feeling I get buying an original part or the discount I get because my brother works there. :banghead:
Buzz 502 #3 Posted October 8, 2008 Is the filter you have a Wheel Horse # 79-5270? I looked in the Wix master cross reference catalog and they don't have one listed. :banghead:
Sparky-(Admin) 23,151 #4 Posted October 8, 2008 Go to this site if theres no Toro/Wheel Horse dealers near you and order it. About $12 for the right one. Well worth it! http://www.rcpw.com/ Get to the site and click on the TORO symbol on the first page, and then enter the part number that Buzz gave you on the second page. Mike......... dave s 0 #6 Posted October 8, 2008 Thanks for the replies, The #108335 was superceded by 79-5270. I found three dealers within a 20 mile radius of me, one is a friend of mine,I didn't realize he was a TORO dealer. we'll see how good a friend he is when he hands me the bill. bluetuna08 0 #7 Posted October 8, 2008 they arent expensive and do a great job. I wanna say they are either 10 or 25 micron...either is good for our tractors.
92Pony 1 #8 Posted October 8, 2008 Dave, fwiw, a little while back there was a thread over on MTF talking about filters. There was also a good reference link in that thread. http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=58054 Wade
dave s 0 #9 Posted October 8, 2008 Got the filters today, Had to settle for NAPA Gold, they are made by Wix, Prices were Eng. $10.91 Trans $$6.91 The part that burns my butt is $.50 "Green Fee" on each, which is applicable to all paints, oil ,and other auto chemicals , then they tax you on that, Can you say MONEY GRAB? Do you people have this in the US.? :banghead:
