dray@georgiarays.com 0 #53 Posted June 30 HI, Last night, my tractor stopped when out of gas,and I failed to turn OFF the key for 30 minutes. When I did turn it off, I tried to start, but NOW there is NO Spark. Thus, Did I damage & burn out the coil? Is there a place to purchase a new one? It is Yellow, with the condenser on top mounted? It WAS only 30 minutes, but it is very old. PLEASE Help me, if you can. Thank you Chef Danyell

Do you still need help? I have never seen a yellow coil, and the condenser should be mounted on the air filter support. If you go to the top of this thread most of your questions will be answered, I would start by following the troubleshooting in the Onan Service Manual that is available there. Photos would be a big help. Edited July 3 by lynnmor

Thank you Chef Danyell I FOUND the issue as a 25 amp fuse LOOKED fine, but it had blown, in the lower part, invisible to the eye, so I gambled replacing it, and it works.! HOWEVER, I have a PROBLEM: The ignition switch DOESN'T ENGAGE THE STARTER. I'M Forced to JUMP IT, each time to start. What might be the issue-and it's a new ignition switch? Could there be an issue with the Solenoid-like a 'DEAD SPOT'. It's over 20 years old, but I don't want to replace it and have it STILL not work? Can you PLEASE Help me? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,438 #56 Posted Tuesday at 03:35 PM Do you know the model number or year of your tractor?
Handy Don 13,969 #57 Posted Tuesday at 06:29 PM If you can jump the solenoid to start the tractor, then both it and the starter are ok. Do you have a volt meter and the skill to use it? If no, find someone who does? If yes, then... Tractor in Neutral, wheels chocked... Carefully (probably with a helper) test to see if there is 12v on the “S” terminal of the ignition switch when the key is turned to “Start”. If no (since the tractor runs if jumped) then likely a bad switch. If yes, carefully test at the solenoid for 12v when the key is turned to “Start”. If no, then wiring from switch to solenoid is bad.
