found an 854?

Recommended Posts

Hello all I was snooping around an old shop where a fella said I might find an old wheel horse and I think I found an 854 with add-on hydraulics, that looks factory but its a little rough and I didn't see the belt gaurd any where but it may be there somewhere. I'm sorry I don't have a pic It was very dark in the shed it was in but I can say that it was a round hood, 8hp kohler with eletric start, it had a 2 piece aluminum gas tank that the steering shaft went through and the hydraulics consisted of an combination pump resevoir with a lever on the right of it kinda between the dash and floor, the cylinder pushed on a shaft that stuck throough to the left side of the tractor and lifted a dozer blade the was close by[looked factory]. Could someone please confirm if this possibly is an 854, is there a pic somewhere of the add on hydralics package? Any advise as to things to look at when considering purchasing a tractor of this age? I have never owned a tractor this old and it looks quiet different than the tractors in my sig. Thanks, Dana

If you could get pics or serial #, The # is on the dash stand behind and a little below the HY-2 unit we could find out what it is easier. :banghead:

That tractor looks just like it, the hydraulics are identical. Yours is in better shape but this one has an engine that supposedly runs. Anything you know of to look at when considering purchase? Are the hydraulics rare? :banghead:

Look under the hydro unit. There will be a sticker with the gear shift pattern on it, the serial number will be on the top of that sticker. Needless to say if the price is good, SAVE THAT HORSE!!!! :horseplay: :horseplay: :horseplay:
