fi57 0 #1 Posted August 27, 2014 Hi : I need help with my newly purchased C145 WHEEL HORSE . The rectifier is the small block type with only two wires ,one large yellow and one small red wire, I think the mounting bolt is gnd. The unit was not wired in to the harness. Does anyone know how this is wired in? All schematics I have looked at show the 3 wire rectifiers. Thanks
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,393 #2 Posted August 27, 2014 Sounds like a Briggs and Stratton engine. Post all the numbers of the engine's data decal. Garry
fi57 0 #3 Posted August 28, 2014 Hi Garry: I have had other wheel horses with this rectifier on it . It was used on 1982-1984. thanks for trying -Nick
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,393 #4 Posted August 28, 2014 You need to figure out what you are working with. This 3-page B&S chart should identify the charging system. This is the best available manual on the tractor wiring at the time Garry
Trouty56 567 #5 Posted August 28, 2014 I posted a question about this a while back.....
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,393 #6 Posted August 29, 2014 Forgot about that. That may be the answer. Never seen one myself. Do you think it is connected to the DC+ output? Garry
Trouty56 567 #7 Posted August 29, 2014 Yes I do.....If I remember correct 1 leg of the AC went to the sqare rectifier...then a small wire from the rectifier along with the other AC leg connected to the DC output to the switch.....but I changed it all to the other/normal system.... Trouty56 567 #8 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) Ok....here are a few pictures..... You can see the small orange wire from the rect goes to the center DC leg with the one AC leg..... Hope this helps... Excuse the deformed foot in that one pic...I had an industrial accident years ago and lost a few toes....never take on a forklift!!!!
