C145 rectifier wiring

Recommended Posts

fi57

Hi : I need help with my newly purchased C145 WHEEL HORSE . The rectifier is the small block type with only two wires ,one large yellow and one small red wire, I think the mounting bolt is gnd. The unit was not wired in to the harness. Does anyone know how this is wired in?  All schematics I have looked at show the 3 wire rectifiers. Thanks

Sounds like a Briggs and Stratton engine. Post all the numbers of the engine's data decal.

You need to figure out what you are working with. This 3-page B&S chart should identify the charging system.

This is the best available manual on the tractor wiring at the time

Forgot about that. That may be the answer. Never seen one myself. Do you think it is connected to the DC+ output?

Yes I do.....If  I remember correct 1 leg of the AC went to the sqare rectifier...then a small wire from the rectifier along with the other AC leg connected to the DC output to the switch.....but I changed it all to the other/normal system....

You can see the small orange wire from the rect goes to the center DC leg with the one AC leg.....

Hope this helps...

Excuse the deformed foot in that one pic...I had an industrial accident years ago and lost a few toes....never take on a forklift!!!!
