I don't know how they worked

I bought Ezra from the original owner last fall. I plan on putting the tall shoot blower on this winter. With the cooler temps we've been having it's gotten me to thinking about winter duty and getting the Horses ready. I wanted to upgrade the lights with Sylvaina Silver Stars and new reflectors. The lights on this tractor worked and this is what I found after removing the lens and bulbs. The grass DID NOT fall into the sockets!  :confusion-confused: Here is a thread when I did the same upgrade to my C-160

Oh geez!!!!! I must show restraint. All sorts of comments about sparks and fires are going through my head. I've got an A/C unit to fix today. I better get started on it so I get my remaining brain cells headed in another direction.

What is the reflective material you put in the lenses?  Is that from another headlight?

Reflector material is from some lights at work. I should bring a piece to the show and cut off chunks.

See the link I left in the first post

Pictures after the bulbs were installed. These were taken with the engine off. The last one was with the engine running and I took a heat reading on the lens. Topped out at 122 deg after 5 min of run time. I noticed the temp jumped to 135 deg when the engine was turned off from the exhaust heat and no fan to blow the air. I did another test after cool down I turned the lights on for 5 min with no engine and topped out at 115 deg.
