Go HERE, enter "L-155" as the model number, select "Riding Mowers/Tractors & Attachments" as the product type, and hit the "submit" button.

From there you can download (for free) the Wheel Horse 6 & 8-Speed Mechanical Transmission manual (#492-4004) which also has the 3 speed repair instructions.

It's not that hard to work on these trannies, BUT- I would suggest you download the mechanical transmission repair manual. It is about 70 pages covering all of the trannies. It even breaks down the different ones for different tractors by model and year. It really makes your first one much easier...

You can download it from Toro.com.

Are most of the bearins still available?

All the needle roller bearings are common Torringtons available through any bearing house. The 2 ball bearings on the sides of the diff are "specials" that I've never found an alternate source for (Toro want about $50 apiece for them).

The gasket is still available from Toro, seals are available generically, I usually get them from NAPA.

I made up a set of drivers from aluminum to remove and install the bearings and seals, but you can improvise with various sockets etc.
