Wishin4a416 2,189 #51 Posted December 1, 2015 Been a long time since I got to work on this Ole girl. To many irons in the fire. Its Kohler time, or is that "Miller Time", but I got the engine tore down and decreased. Has a nice .002" groove in the jug from a broken top ring so its off to the machine shop soon. I will rebuild this in the Man Cave where there is some heat!

Just thinking the foot pans. I was considering widening the stock ones on mine, and using a second set would be easy.

mikekot3 92 #63 Posted January 3, 2016 Very nice paint work. What did you use for the carburetor? Or is it cleaned up with clear coat?

I just used brake cleaner then the SOS pad. Rinse real good in hot water and blow off and then swish around in Acetone.

Time to get busy. are you sure that cylinder is not cracked the entire length? I can clearly see a crack on the far side extending down. That is not a ring gouge as a gouge would have created a straight up and down line grove this line I see is a fine crack varying right and left as it goes down the cylinder. I may be wrong but I don't think so.
Wishin4a416 2,189 #67 Posted January 3, 2016 No cracks. I checked it out with a light. Gouge is shown in Post 51.
