cod 121 #1 Posted August 5, 2014 Following the advice of my "betters" I went today and picked up a second 418A. 990hrs on the Kohler and now that I have a second horse I'm hoping to send the first horse's Kohler out and have it rebuilt. I also am wrestling with the idea of replacing the original hydraulic control(manifold) if I can find a modern one that will fit the wheel horse. I've replaced all of the original hoses with new Toro replacements and have also tried different types of orings to keep the fittings from weeping but I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth sticking with the original wheel horse parts. Have any of you had an experience with swapping out the hydraulic control for a similar valve from another supplier? I think I could have the hydraulic cylinder rebuilt entirely but if it needs to be matched to the control valve, I'll dump that as well. To some this probably sounds like hersey, but I have a rather low tolerance for leaking oil and with a rear discharge, all of the crud tends to swirl around the under side of the tractor and by early fall, it looks like I've tarred and feathered my horse. So any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Cod
