jeremi3210 688 #1 Posted August 1, 2014 Hi I have a 1970 gt14 with a tired knocking 14hp kohler. I want to repower it I was just wondering what others did. I seen in Habor freight they have a 22hp v-twin. Anybody else try something like this? If so post pics. Just looking for some ideas.
oldredrider 2,548 #2 Posted August 1, 2014 Why not rebuild the engine that's in there? Less than the cost of a new engine and should last another 40 + years. No re-wiring issues or fit problems either. Justice my opinion, but I'm partial to the GT-14 and the original Kohler.
jeremi3210 688 #3 Posted August 1, 2014 I do agree with you but this tractor doesn't have the original motor not even sure it's a 14hp. Just looking to see if anyone has done something like this.
Brrly1 1,146 #4 Posted August 1, 2014 I like using a 16hp 341k Kohler. I have on a few different tractors. It works good for me.
bitten 133 #5 Posted August 1, 2014 I would think that the V-twin would be to large to fit without moving the gas tank.
