saturnsl89 0 #1 Posted July 22, 2014 I have a 1993 wheel horse 244-5 that keeps blowing the 25amp fuse. The wires look like the go to the starter and Ive checked the wires and the look fine. The fuse block has 4 connections. The top one is empty, the second one down has a 15amp fuse, the third has the 25 amp fuse, and the fourth has a 30amp fuse. Is that correct fuse positions? When I purchased the tractor it only had the 25amp fuse in. So I searched online and replaced the other fuses to the spots accordingly. I started it up and I went about 50 feet and the motor died. And found the 25amp fuse blew. Any help would be very much appreciated. On another note, the wires that go to the starter has a green wire with a connector and it's not connected to anything. Ive looked and couldnt find where it could connect. Any Ideas? Thanks

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,561 #3 Posted July 22, 2014 The only green wire I see goes to the headlamps. Here is the wiring Demystification manual for the 244-Series The 25 amp fuse should be feeding the ignition switch so everything it controls is suspect except the 15 amp fuse that feeds the headlamps and the pto clutch and it's not blowing so they should not be a problem. saturnsl89 0 #4 Posted July 22, 2014 Ok, I do see that the red wire actually goes to the ignition switch. So Ill see if I can find a replacement. Thanks and I will let you know how everything goes.
