homebrew_craig 0 #1 Posted July 18, 2014 Hello, This is my first post and I want to thank you all in advance for such a great community and place for information. I am new to tractors in general and have, as my first, a 1988 Wheel Horse 212-6 that was given to me for free after sitting for 4 or 5 years. It has the Kawasaki FB460V engine and was in decent shape. It's also my first time tinkering with and learning about tractors/small engines and I've been having a lot of fun with it. When I first started it, it ran really rough... RPMs bobbing up and down to the point where it was unusable. I started with the simple stuff that I figured I could handle... Changed the oil, replaced the spark plug, drained the old gas, cleaned the tank, replaced the fuel line, and cleaned the carb. After reading the service manual, I was able to adjust the linkages and replace some wiring to the coil that had been eaten by mice. Anyhow.... The engine actually runs great now! I'm looking forward to some mowing but definitely need to replace the blades. I searched but was unable to find any guidance on what makes the most sense for this deck. I have about an acre to mow and do not have a bagger. Any suggestions? Also, is there a manual available for this mower that anyone is aware of? Thanks in advance! - Craig
