Metal hauler 7 #1 Posted July 13, 2014 I just did a motor swap on my B80, the 2 stator wires are the same color, does it matter which way they are hooked up?

Metal hauler 7 #4 Posted July 13, 2014 What is the best way of testing it, could i tell by the amp gauge?
rmaynard 16,223 #5 Posted July 13, 2014 Us an ohm meter. Across both leads of the stator it should read 0.1 to 0.2 ohms. If it's open, the stator is bad. Also check from one lead to ground, and then the other lead to ground. It should should not read anything. If it does the stator is shorted to ground. This is all covered in the Kohler K-Series Service Manual, available for download from the manuals section.

rmaynard 16,223 #8 Posted July 14, 2014 The regulator/rectifier has two tabs marked AC. That's where they attach.
