Wife and I did some antique hunting and garage sale searching on the 4th.  At one of the garage sales the owner was using an early C seriies to haul stuff around.  That wasn't for sale, I asked.  But he did have a D180 back out in the field that was for sale.  No pics, sorry.  Phone died.  The tractor was waaay out in the back, but it was covered.  All complete with 3pt and pto, tires holding air.  Comes with a 60" finish mower.  The owner said he never heard it run, PO told him it sucked a valve.  Model # 106119.  Can somebody ID this tractor?  He is asking $900 (sounds high).  I cannot afford it, so if anyone is interested, I'll pass on his info.  He also has a Sunstrand setup out of an early C and some other small parts.  This is all out in SW Michigan.

I did some checking in the photo albums, the tractor he was using, which he thinks is a C series, looks exactly like a GT14.  I may try to talk him into selling that.

Also found the ID #10611.  It's a 1974 D180 Automatic.

These things are always a days ride away for me. Doubt if he will get that price though.

He hasn't done anything since he got it about a year ago.  I figure he overpaid and is trying to recover.  I don't know enough about the D series or much else other the late C's, so I wouldn't know what a good price would be.  Someone with cash in pocket would probably be able to pick it up for right money.

With it not running you can't check the hydro which was the weak link in these things. For a non runner I wouldn't pay more than 400 and the sheet metal and everything else would need to be darn near perfect. Depending on how bad the engine damage is from the valve dropping you could be looking at 500- 2500 in costs for a rebuild

You make me Laugh with this posting. I have a running and working 18A and has snow blade and two decks and can't even get lookers for the 1000 I was asking. I'm lowering price maybe, and someone is coming to look tommorrow. Hope it goes!

Now consider the 60 inch finish mower if it has the PTO hook up parts, the 3 pt hitch and the PTO it self...There is some serious money in selling off just those.

All the hook ups were there, the mower was sitting about a foot away.  Looked totally complete.  I don't care what kind of price the guy puts on it, if he wanted to get rid of it badly enough he would advertise it.

I've been watching your posts Grumpy, I cannot believe you haven't sold it yet.  By the way, Grumpy is what I'm known as to all my Grandkids.
