motox25 36 #1 Posted July 2, 2014 I need some advice on the PTO clutch on my 520H. After shutting down the engine, I've noticed a "swishing" sound coming near my PTO clutch. After checking, it seems both surfaces of the PTO clutch are rubbing slightly while disengaged. If I pull the PTO bell away from the engine and turn the belt manually the sound goes away. In my mind the way to fix this is to loosen the PTO arm. It does require some pressure to engage the clutch but doesn't seem to be adjusted too tightly and it is driving a 60" deck so I don't want it to slip. What do you guys think? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,472 #2 Posted July 3, 2014 I would not back it off because you need all the pressure you can get. When the 60in decks first came out they had to increase the clutch size. I have never compared parts to know if the larger ones became standard equipment on all models. Here is the bulletin Garry
motox25 36 #3 Posted July 3, 2014 Great, that's what I figured, just didn't want to wear out the clutch from rubbing. Thank you Garry!
