8hp techy died....

Hey all.... Mowing with the 8-25 last night and the engine started to make a screeching sound like a bearing going out. Stopped the engine, checked the oil, level in the ok section. Fired her back up, and thought well how much can I get done before it seizes up, well let's put it I made it 10 feet, before I shut it down in fear of flying debris pelting my back side. Guess I own a boat anchor now. First horse with catastrophic failure. Doesn't feel good inside. Ok I slept on it and looked into re-powering it with something from HF, heck I have a brand new 6.5 engine on a tiller and runs great. The only horizontal engines they have are for push mowers, that I see online. Can't imagine why they don't offer a comparable horizontal engine like they do for vert engines. So my question is, I have a simplicity 3110 with a 10hp Briggs that was a strong runner, that is just sitting under a tart by my deck that has been there for 4 years, are the mounting holes same/close from techy to Briggs? I'm hoping the crank shafts are the same size to make it all easy. I really like the mulching deck in the fall, and I can tell a big difference on fuel usage from not using the 416-8 every time. dupetunu.jpg4aga7a4a.jpg

Its a vertical shaft motor not horizontal and the 10hp will be a great replacement.
