Sodaking27 972 #1 Posted June 23, 2014 Bronco 14 not charging. Does anyone have a wiring diagram. I looked through the site and only saw the one for the 72 Bronco which is not the same as the 71.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,393 #2 Posted June 23, 2014 What is different between 1971 and 1972? They both use the 5-terminal 4-position #8362 ignition switch for breakerless ignition and 15 amp charging stator. Garry
Sodaking27 972 #3 Posted June 23, 2014 Garry There is no standard coil or solenoid on the 71.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,393 #4 Posted June 24, 2014 Well that's the problem with shared manuals. Depends where you look. There was one Charger 12 model 1-0402 in 1972 that used the 8362 ignition switch like you should have. They did add a solenoid and that may be because of the clutch pedal safety switch but that is a good idea to save the ignition switch. They are expensive because they carry the whole starter load without a solenoid. This 1-0402 wiring diagram should work for you If you don't have the clutch switch the starter wire will go directly to the starter and be a heavy #6 or #8 wire as will the wire bringing power to the switch from the battery.
