jdleach 525 #1 Posted June 15, 2014 Interchangeability of many parts between one Horse and another is often discussed here on the forum, and is one of the wonderful things about these tractors. So many items will work from model to model. Since this is so, I began to wonder if I can use a hood from some other, more readily available tractor for my Commando V7. As many here are aware, I have a 1969 V7 that, due to some quirk in personality, or diseased condition of the brain, I would like to restore at some point. The tractor (and I use the term loosely) has pretty severe rust. Most can all be dealt with, but the hood is absolutely shot. Literally peppered all over with pin holes completely through the metal. A real goner. Another item that I will need is the deck. This thing is what appears to be a 36" job, and has the same mounting, or at least looks the same, as the ones I have seen on other tractors from the same era. All the hardware on this deck looks to be salvageable, but the sheet metal is now of the "see-thru" variety. I am thinking that perhaps a hood and deck from a late 60's short frame tractor will be a direct bolt on. Anyone know?
