T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,606 #2 Posted September 26, 2008 I believe it's Toro part number 9691. According to STENS, or at least their part number equalvalent, is 1/2 inch x 70 inches. Here's their website: Stens belt
linen beige 15 #3 Posted September 26, 2008 You got it Treed! My belt chart shows part # 9691. It's cross section HA (1/2" width, 5/16" height, 70" length.).
bowtieguy 334 #4 Posted September 27, 2008 Just to add my 2 cents worth to the subject of Wheel Horse Charts....one of the best purchases that I have made is the TORO p/n 492-0392... It is about 100 pages and covers Lurication Recommendations, Drive Belt & Mower Blade Usage Info: Mower Spindle Cup Identification Lubrication Recommendations Tractore Drive Belt Chart Mower Spindle & Drive Belt Chart Drive Belt Chart by P/N Section-Length Drive Belt Chart by Section-Length-P/N Drive Belt Chart by Type-Section-Demensions Charts contained in this boodlet are also in the Toro omsumer Gateway CD and the Gateway Parts & Service Center on the Toro Dealer Extranet. Listings and charts are updated every two years. I keep this book in my truck cause you never know when you will find a "good buy"...like a bucket full of WH belts from the 60's at a farm sale....sure comes in handy for quick identification to see what it fits....then you go ask where the tractor is that the belt fits....lol Good luck and maybe this booklet is already on file somewhere in the RS archieves

Buzz 502 #6 Posted September 27, 2008 You got it Treed! My belt chart shows part # 9691. It's cross section HA (1/2" width, 5/16" height, 70" length.). That number crosses to Gates #6870 which might be easier to find in England. Here's a link to a Gates belt cross reference chart. Put the Wheel Horse number in and out pops Gates, NAPA, and other numbers............. http://www.gates.com/part_interchange/inde...ocation_id=3286

fordsonmajortom 1 #11 Posted September 29, 2008 There must be something odd about my 68 lawnranger. I tried an A70 drivebelt on it and it was to long, swapped it for an A68 and it fits spot on. :banghead:

Red Horse 33 #14 Posted October 1, 2008 Red Horse, just wanted to say ! Glad to have you among us! Duff Thanks Duff, we've had Wheel Horses in the family since ' 67 when my Dad bought an L-157. Glad I stumbled upon this site. Thought I was the last guy around here who thought WH was the greatest thing since canned beer. Greatest name in lawn and garden equip bar none including the green wannabe stuff. Wheel Horse is the real deal. Right now I'm trying to find a decent 310-8 with a 36" deck. A 312-8 would be nice too! Anyway I've got a few parts to sell. What's the best way to sell them? Ebay or is there a place on this forum for Want Ads? jusjeepn 59 #17 Posted October 2, 2008 There must be something odd about my 68 lawnranger. I tried an A70 drivebelt on it and it was to long, swapped it for an A68 and it fits spot on. FYI Gates "A" series belts run 2" longer than their part no#. Your A68 belt is actually 70" long. "B" series belts are 3" longer. "A" & "B" series belts were designed specifically for industrial applications. If at all possible try to use "68" and "69" series belts which are designed specifically for lower hp (garden tractors, lawn mowers, etc.) engines. Even though they are more expensive than the industrial "A" & "B" series, they will last longer. Pat
fordsonmajortom 1 #18 Posted October 2, 2008 Thanks Pat, thats cleared that one up. The Lawnranger only gets used now and then to give my granddaughter rides around the yard and when she gets big enough she can drive it herself. She has named it Annabell and the Raider is called Tommy.
