Chainsaw 0 #1 Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Howdy all. I recently acquired a 67 856 from a friend of mine, 8hp, and has a rear discharge belly mower. Already mowed the lawn with it once and I love the thing. Think ill slowly restore her. Ill see if I can get a pic posted. Edit. Hmm. Says my pic file is to big. Ill mess with it and see if I can get one posted. Edited June 14, 2014 by Chainsaw
wallfish 18,087 #2 Posted June 14, 2014 Welcome aboard Chainsaw! There's not too many Wheel Horse tractors out that far west. It's probably a fairly rare item in your part of the country which makes you the coolest guy on your block! If your tractor is an 856, that makes it a 1966. The last number in the model # of those years actually refers to the year of production. Resizing your pic to 800 x 600 works well for this site when you attach the pic. Using an off site picture host like photobucket can resize your pic when you upload it there. Then use the link from there to post it on here.
Chainsaw 0 #3 Posted June 14, 2014 Thanks for the info Wallfish. I was wondering about the year. My buddy Roger who gave me the tractor told me it was a 67 so im just going off his word for the moment. I feel like the coolest kid on the block! Im in the middle of mowing my lawn with it right now. Its not as fast as my craftsman mower but its a lot more fun.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,147 #4 Posted June 14, 2014 I have a 656 (similar to yours) that I repowered with a 6hp Honda. Its a blast to drive and has an incredible turning radius! Mike.........

km3h 543 #9 Posted June 15, 2014 First thing to do is go to the document section here and download the manuals for your tractor. There is most likely a parts manual there as well. Most parts can be ordered from your Toro dealer.
Chainsaw 0 #10 Posted June 15, 2014 Got those. My buddy got copies off the interwebs and put them in a binder. Good to know on the toro dealer. Thanks.
