Nathanielperz 150 #1 Posted June 14, 2014 Hey guys I am looking for a loader that I can customize to fit my 1276... I do not want to spend crazy amounts of money for one no more that like $600-800... I would need one that has its own hydraulic pump and its own hydraulic fluid reservoir because the 1276 doesn't have any hydraulic lift or anything... Please tell me if you have one to sell OR where I could get one ASWELL as if the price im looking for it too low... Thanks in advance, Nate
seuadr 489 #2 Posted June 14, 2014 i've been watching what they tend to go for and for the price you are suggesting whatever you find is going to be pretty rough and probably need a fair amount of work to bring into good shape. you might be able to put a "new" one together for that price - there are several plans out there for FELs including a couple here on red square in the documents section. the steel won't be bad, the expensive part are the hydraulic controls, pump and cylinders. i've seen a fair number of them that used the arms as the resovore which could work out good for your purposes as there won't be an external tank to worry about and could probably get a pump driven off an electric PTO (or driven off your tractors PTO, i'm not familar with the specifics of the 1276)
Nathanielperz 150 #3 Posted June 14, 2014 oh cool but I don't have time to make one haha that's why I want to find a cheap one
wallfish 18,154 #4 Posted June 14, 2014 Highly doubt you could easily find a working one for that amount. They tend to sell for double because they're in high demand. They use a pump driven from the engine PTO and one of the uprights is used for the reservoir.
Nathanielperz 150 #5 Posted June 14, 2014 theres one on ebay for like $2300 or something like that... how did you get yours? Im going to guess you made it...
doc724 925 #6 Posted June 14, 2014 There is a guy on the north jersey CL with one for sale for $600. Was posted 10 days ago so it is likely gone. There is another one in Pepperell MA with the tractor for $1900. I just picked up a Kwik Way for my 5xi. It is pretty new, probably 2000-2001, and in excellent shape. However, as others have said these things are in high demand and do command a premium. Good luck in your search

squonk 43,844 #10 Posted June 14, 2014 I built one for a Power King. Steel is higher than you think. Once you buy a pump, hoses, controls, and rams you'll be at $12-1500 easy.
boovuc 1,090 #11 Posted June 15, 2014 I agree Squonk! Even if you buy your pump, rams, spooler, steel and hoses from different suppliers based solely on price alone, your still going to be above the 1k dollar amount or close to it. Nathan.....I bought a 500 dollar Ark Loader from the 70's that worked but needed repairs. This includes rebuilding the lift cylinders and replacing hoses. To date, I'm north of 1000 dollars with the purchase price and the repairs/refurbishing. If you find a 600 dollar loader, it will need $$$ to get it to working condition sooner than later! An option would be to watch other forums, craigslist, etc for loaders that fit "other tractors" including the old but solid Sears Suburbans, older Cubs, Older JD, and Bolens. This would open up other OEM manufacturers like Johnson as well as Kwik-Way and Ark. If you would build your own Loader, you would need to build the sub-frame anyway. If you found another loader that fit these other tractors, they would be self contained meaning they require an external hydro-pump and they have a built-in reservoir just like the Made for Wheelhorse loaders do. (Kwik-Way and Ark). Again, for the money you want to invest, it will be difficult but it's not impossible!
