Fun Engineer 859 #1 Posted June 12, 2014 Any thoughts on a price for the following package? Info is from add. I can't copy the photo but it all looks in good shape 99, 518xi 44" deck 44" blower Mid grader Wheel weights and chains Less than 289 hours Sent from my tractor seat using Tapatalk
Forest Road 594 #2 Posted June 12, 2014 What are they asking? How beat up are the deck and blower? Tractor by itself $1200-2000. Mid grader blade is my favorite attachment! Works wonders on our 1/2 mile shared driveway.

JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,498 #4 Posted June 12, 2014 I would like to know the price, curious. Pictures would help. The hours sure are low, and there are plenty of attachments. I am not experienced enough to set the price. I can only judge by what I paid for mine. Like everyone says / said to me. Attachments are hard to find. I like all the attachments that are with it. Btw, is the snow blower a single or 2 stage? Big differance in dollars between the two. Good luck. Glenn
papaglide 542 #5 Posted June 12, 2014 These are my estimates based on many years of nothing: $1200 - tractor $300- deck $450 - blower $300- mid grader $150- weights and chains After adding in some variables, I would say the price would be anywhere from $2500-$4000. Disclaimer- These are my fictitious estimates and I am standing by them. Prices can vary from state to state, based on local economic conditions.
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #6 Posted June 12, 2014 If it is a 44" snowthrower, then that is the two stage so I would say $550-$600. I'm not sure if I would want that on the 518xi though. That low on hours I also think that the tractor would be more like $1500-$1800.
Fun Engineer 859 #7 Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) It is a two stage. From what I can see in the pictures all equipment is in good shape. I can't copy and paste from cl. I'll see if I can paste a link. Here is the CL post id: 4510157351 Edited June 12, 2014 by Fun Engineer

Forest Road 594 #9 Posted June 13, 2014 The ad does have a price. Seller has already lowered it $500. In the future try asking for opinions on the stated price. With that equipment and low hours its seems fare. Anyone could argue +- $700.
RMCIII 838 #10 Posted June 15, 2014 I'm looking to trade my 518, w 48" deck, 42" single stage blower, winter cab, weights, chains. Only 276hrs. Just changed all fluids and filters yesterday. RP - in the engine and Valvoline for the transmission. Looking for a little more versatility and an FEL. I know they say you can put one on the 518, but it is not recommended by Toro. The front spindles are a little on the small size. They say the 20 and up is fine for a FEL. Also remember, as stated before, prices are outrageous for parts for these garden tractors. Just between the mower and blower belt, if you get them from Toro, $75/each, $150.00 for the pair. Finding that stuff is a challenge. The 3 filters I just put on, all 3 - WH - OEM $36.00. Fuel, oil, tranny. Not trying to be the nay sayer, just know what you are in for if you decide to move forward. Rob
Snowmobileaddict 403 #11 Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) Save some hard earned cash and get some of your wear items from places other than the Toro dealer. I buy blue Kevlar belts from www.vbeltsforless.com. Any belt can be had for the 5xi for under $20. Most are $13-$17. Just match your stock Toro part number up with the industrial size and off you go. Most any belt will be within 1/2" of what Toro sells. Some are identical to a given industrial belt. Toro likes to take a standard belt, and tweak its length a bit so that you think you need to buy from the Toro parts counter for a premium. Your belt tensioners (mule drive or deck belt) are more than able to provide for this difference in length. Here is a belt interchange chart: http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/belts/toro_belts.asp Also, need a idler pulley? Toro will charge you $25 to $85. Just take some careful measurements and go on over to http://shop.phoenix-mfg.com/ Phoenix ships factory direct and most any idler you'll need can be had for $9-$20. Otherwise, if you really want to save a buck you can drill out the spot welds on the idlers, replace the worn bearing and use machine screws to put it back together. Tons of you tube videos on this (google replace idler bearing). The only filter I use OEM Toro on is the Hydro filter. Don't mess around with anything but genuine wheel horse there. Forest Road 594 #12 Posted June 17, 2014 I have a loader on a 522xi. Didn't know there's a difference in the spindles. I do believe mine are 1" and reinforced. I do have power steering and couldn't imagine operating one without. I'll admit I cheap out on filters. I get two oil changes from a filter. Typically change oil once a year, my machines see 10 hours a year max. Hydro filters I don't mess around. Toro only! I too have heard too many stories about the wrong filter on hydro and some ridiculous problem. Every 2-3 years. I lucked out finding this loader. Even with 1100 hours it was still worth $3000. I wouldn't pay much more than that for one on a 100 hour machine. As nice as these tractors are next time Ill spend my money on a true tractor loader combo. These are garden tractors and the loader is severely limited. Open diff and lack of 4x4 or 3pt hitch just to name a few short comings. Shop around for a nice Kubota NH Deere etc.
