Kelly 1,033 #1 Posted June 11, 2014 Around me we have a Facebook page for selling stuff, all guy stuff cars, tractors, guns, tools you name it, well a guy had posted a WH and a Craftsman for sale both in a barn but not ran in years, I sent him a offer on both, but was second in line, after the first person passed on the WH, because it said Toro on the hood, I got a call I was next, so after talking to the guy on the phone I loaded up and drove the 65 miles to look at them, I could see through the layers of dirt the tractors where both in pretty good shape, so I made a lowball offer just to see, as he said they are gong to the scrap in a few days, and he took my offer, so we aired up the tires and loaded them up, it was after 10pm lastnight so no pics then, I left them on the trailer and took them to the car wash today after work, to clean them up a bit, and I will say for a quick job they cleaned up pretty good, I plan to do more clean up after I mess with them. The WH is a 97 312 8 speed with 900 hours on it, and a 42" SD deck, was told it had a wiring issue, so after we unloaded them tonight, I hooked up a batt charger and it cranked right over but no spark, well it's a Magnum, so I unplugged the 3 wire lead to the engine to make sure it was not shorting, the Mag. does not need power to run only to crank the starter, and then it fired right up, runs like a champ no smoke or noises. throttles up smooth, I plugged the wiring back in and now it starts fine, still need to look in to the issue, but I think this will be a nice machine. The Craftsman needs a starter, I have one in stock but have not messed with it, it has a 19.5 HP Kohler Magnum in it, 46" deck, 55lb wheel weights, it's a little beat up but not to bad, need to see how it runs, if it runs good I even have a snow blade to fit it.
