cod 121 #1 Posted June 8, 2014 Had to remove the front shrouds on my Magnum 18 and I notice that some of the threaded holes in the block are wrecked. Some of them I can helicoil with a 1/4-20 insert but have any of you tried other ideas for repairing the threads as there's a couple by the starter that would require removing the block to drill out and I'd rather not get into that right now. I was thinking of wrapping a shroud bolt with Saran Wrap and stuffing that into a glob of JB Weld or trying to wedge something in the hole for the threads to bite on. KATO 115 #2 Posted June 8, 2014 Tried JB weld only once on bolt holes ...didn't work AT ALL it wont take any torque from the threads. your only choice may be removing the engine and doin it right 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
