Belt prices vary

Just ordered a PTO/deck belt for the 520-H w/48" SD deck.   WH  P/N 102742  1/2" X 103 1/4".

Ebay w/free shipping $14.75.          NAPA  $48.69.      I don't know if the quality is there, but for that price difference I will take the chance.

The "official oem" belt I just from eBay had no markings on the actual belt at all, but did fit,

it's only been in use 2-3 hours by now,  the sealed plastic bag did say and look like official

TORO/Wheel Horse packaging, and had the correct number on the package, but in small

print, said:  "Made in Mexico".  The eBay ad did say "Official Wheel Horse Belt", but in the

past they always had Wheel Horse and the part number embossed in white on them, the

enclosed invoice was from a VT snowmobile dealer and it did not have or say anything

about TORO/Wheel Horse on that invoice.    I wonder now?

I'm guessing the ole saying applys here: "Pay me now or pay me later"....usually associated with belts! :scratchead:

Belts.

I get great service from Huskee Kevlar belts. Off the shelf at Tractor Supply. Around $20 each.

My local TSC has the 1/2 X103" Kevlar belt  in stock  for $22.99.   The specs state  it has a dry coating making it suitable to run on a back side idler pulley.  I will try one next time.

You'll be surprised, I am/was. Off the shelf, no shipping, great wear 'n tear strength. Never had one fail!

Have had very good experience with these Kevlars, and the price is right.

:thanks:  for the link... looks like another source for  good belts.   It's interesting....vbelts4less is a division of Belarus Tractor.  My sister uses 2 of these beastly  Belarus tractors on her farm .  They  are a really heavy well built machine.

So far the  $14.75  flea-bay belt is looking good.  I t has only be used   for 2 hours to power the 48" deck on the 520,  but  we'll keep an eye on it  for wear.

I ordered a WH belt for the drive in my 416-8 Monday. That WH belt was the same price as the Kevlar NAPA belt available locally. Since I only use OEM or NAPA Kevlar, I went OEM. It's hard to argue with a belt that you know has endured 20+ years on the same tractor. It was 44 bucks but I won't be dealing with it again for a long long time unless I do something stupid which burned the NAPA belt up to begin with!

Sometimes you can get oem new off eBay cheap, my 93-9809 for the 416-8 was $25.00, but I also got a 93-9809 through Do-cut in OH online for $21.00 new in the Toro bag. Down side on the Do-Cut orders is they take nearly 2 weeks to get them.
