sueted1 0 #1 Posted September 24, 2008 :banghead: I have a 1976 Wheelhorse D 250. I would like to do a complete restoration from the ground up. I can't seem to find any parts for this classic. I've located some stickers and Renault engine parts but I can't find anything such as Headlights, Transmission Gaskets, Clutch etc... Would anyone have a good parts source? Rideawaysenior 25 #4 Posted September 24, 2008 Welcome to Red Square. I have a D250 also and am doing an engine transplant. You can still get NOS parts for your motor. You will need to referance it as A Continental R4. Toro used this engine in the Grounds Master 327 up until the 90's. Parts are still readily available for the engine. There are few differances between the engines. The internals are the same except the front end of the engine crank. The gasket set is the same. Carb is the same without the restrictor to give it 27hp, and the distributor is a bit different. If your Toro dealer is not able or willing to help, call Continental Engines in SC. www.continentalengines.com 1-800-922-5632. They can get you just about all you will need they are pricey though. As far as gaskets, I am now cutting my own. It's tedious but works. Bearings I use Timken Bearings in New Hampshire. Clutch discs are also still available through Toro. Hope this helps. Please feel free to PM me with any other questions you have. Jack

Rideawaysenior 25 #6 Posted September 25, 2008 Not sure where the restrictor is, but I do know that the D250 is rated at 19.9hp and the Toro Groundsmaster 327 is rated at 27hp.
