baerpath 517 #1 Posted September 24, 2008 While I was out working, wife found a GT14, bought it and hauled it home. :horseplay: What I'm trying to figure out is what yr it is. Guessing a 69 ? Tag is scraped badly and can't make out the numbers . It runs and mows fine just needs a key switch and paint Has wood grain decals, front is open not solid in front of the gas tank

oldredrider 2,548 #4 Posted September 24, 2008 Congratulations to your wife on her new find! The '69 Gt-14, from what I was told, is the only year that came with the wood grain decals. The "open" grill was also indicative of a '69 model. You must be proud of her (your wife)!!!

glenn27 64 #10 Posted September 24, 2008 Sure has all the points of a 1969. One thing to be careful of--in one of your pictures--looking from the right side--make sure you have the metal heat shield installed between muffler and gas tank--most of the ones I've seen --0n the tank gets blistered on the side/end...can be fixed--but if too bad--the original tanks are getting harder to find. Anyway--good find!! Never enought GT's......man--seems to be a ton of them showing up in last year or so... :banghead:

Jim_M 178 #15 Posted September 25, 2008 My wife tried, I have to give her credit for that at least. She sent me an e mail at work today saying there was a Wheel Horse for sale just down the road from where I work. I stopped by there after work and she was right, it was a Wheel Horse. It was a Lawn Ranger 700 with a lot of parts missing. It looked like it had been sitting outside since Moby **** was a minnow. The good news was that he only wants $250.00 for it since he can't get it started. :banghead:
