Wheel Horse 607 Seat replacement

Recommended Posts

ShotgunTimmy

I'm new here and I apologize if I missed somewhere on here if it's already been discussed, but I recently purchased a 607.  It's been stripped down (no deck) and only came with the plow assembly (which is why I bought it originally).  But after I started looking at it, I thought, might as well touch up the paint...might as well put some new rear tires on it... might as well repaint the whole thing  haha but my question is, somebody had put a Snapper seat on it that's cracked and holds water like a sponge.  I bought an old metal pan seat I want to put on it, but if I bolt the seat directly down to the fender pan, that seems like a bumpy ride in my future, but if I buy the u-shaped spring for the seat, that's going to raise the seat height up 4".  I guess I'm looking for an opinion on what you guys have seen or done.  I'm not doing a full restore or anything, just giving an old tractor a face lift.  Thanks in advance for any tips or pointers you can provide.

Bolt it directly to the pan I've been through this before

I'll post a before and after pic after I'm done.  Like I said it's just a re-paint with new tread on the rears.  But man...once you start, you can't stop!  (My wife hates it haha)  My little girl said she wanted a horse.  She needs to be more specific in the future!

Somebody really beat mine up over the years, but I guess it is 47 years old.  I'm 46 and kind of beat up myself, so I can relate.

No.  It only had the blade assembly.  I got the tractor and blade for $150.00

The fender pan is really beat up.  I thought about fabbing up my own design but didn't know if that was sacreligous.

Once you get a seat on it and start using it around the house those little things don't matter ive found out if your going to use one for work they usually end up with some bumps and bruises
