I was tilling over the weekend when all of a sudden my right leg got real hot, I looked down on oil was spraying everywhere, blown motor oh boy I thought. shut her down an popped the hood to look at the damage, nothing but oil everywhere !! a closer look and I saw the dip stick up out of place, put it back in and problem solved. I suppose I failed to seat it all the way when I checked the oil. was half a good pint low now, but fixed that right quick.  lesson learned after a few skipped heartbeats ..

That's how you learn. Glad it wasn't worse.

You might keep an eye on this. If your breather is clogged, it will blow out the dipstick too.

I have a better one.........have a honda power washer, and checked the oil, but did not scew in the dipstick tight enough.  Had it sitting near my dad's brand new 2003 ford excursion.  Thankfully, I happend to look up and saw the entire rear quarter panel have a dark color on it.  It blew out 50-75% of the oil all over the side of the vehicle.  The cleanup was next to impossible, and I had to re wax the whole side of it before he got home.  Took 3-4 hours worth of cleanup.

Glad your engine survived, it sure doesn;t take long to burn the rod out.
