madura1200 0 #1 Posted May 27, 2014 Hi. Trying to trouble shoot my little tractor. Towards the end of last season I started having a problem starting it. Sometimes it would be fine other times it wouldn't turn over. Father in law and I figured the starter or solenoid was going out. Long short story. The starter is fine. Both relays and all safety switches are working. However I am not getting 12 volts at the light blue wire on the starter solenoid. If I jump the solenoid terminals the starter engages and the motor spins. Gas is disconnected at this time so not sure if I'm getting a spark. This is driving me nuts. The fact that I'm not getting voltage at the solenoid should mean either a relay or safety is not closed but when I isolate them they test fine. I'm no expert and weaker at electric than mechanical. Anything jump out at you? By the way I was really glad to find this forum. I was given the tractor about 4 years ago and after a little work to get her running she's been great. Wife wants me to buy a cheap one from Lowes and just dump this one but I know she's still got a lot of life left in her. Marc Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
