Recommended Posts

How does one know if it is the module or staiter? Is there a proceedure for testing what is actually bad or does one just throw some parts at it until they get it, LOL

It started out as a intermitent problem.. but then just flat out no spark at all.. been sitting a couple years now since I came ill and many fix it projects was put on hold.. now I been trying to get things going again..

Save Old Iron

remove the kill wire from the magneto

check for proper gap between magneto and flywheel and a good "pull" from the flywheel magnet

if the engine has good cranking speed and you have no spark

replace the magneto assy

Save Old Iron

check the spark plug wire for bare areas caused by rodents chewing off the silicone casing

the spark may be jumping to ground thru a chewed area on the plug wire
