Smiley1954 0 #1 Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) Have had my 212H for about a year and a half. Ran great. Got tuned up, changed oil and had exhaust rewelded. Gentleman who worked on 212H said clutch is going and that I needed a battery. I trickle charged battery for first cut and went well. I should have went for new battery but was in hurry, trickle charged again, started cutting and smelled something burning and sounded funny. I parked it as the PTO did not appear to be engaging. Got a new battery, fired her up, no PTO. Noticed lights would not turn on so it was 15 amp fuse. Put in new fuse today, lights worked, crossed fingers and it sounded like PTO went on but smelled burning. Blown fuse. Replace fuse. Burned again. I read that PTOs are electric and must be adjusted every 100 hours. My tractor has less than 700 hours but history is not available. What now? Are parts available? This is an Onan engine and it runs well and the whole tractor looks great for a 1990. I really like how it mows as it is a 38In deck. HELP PLEASE/ Thanks, Smiley Edited May 16, 2014 by Smiley1954
BGrizzleC105 5 #2 Posted May 16, 2014 Parts should still be available through toro and aftermarket it might be better to buy a new pto if you can if you have the manual looking up the part number will be slightly easier for you as well
