Me and my "3"

Recommended Posts

mkevinr63

Here are some pics of my horse. The first two were taken the day I got it home, the next is after a bath and a new seat, finally, me and my "3" cutting the grass :horseplay: . I don't see many of the 310-8 on the boards. Was this a low production model or a mid year? I would like to have a little stack on it and a snow blade. I am in Salem, VA if anyone has any ideas on a stack or about a blade. :banghead:

The 310-8 was produced from 1985 till sometime in the mid 90's. Actually a very common and very popular model. Yours happens to be the first year and carries the unique paint/decal scheme.

The "A" frame style snow/dozer blades are pretty common. Post a wanted add in our classified section and keep an eye on ebay/craigslist. You'll turn one up pretty easy.

some of those tractors with the red hood all over were sold by K,mart Im not sure of the years will check and post.

and a stack if youre talking about ex, thats easy to make just screw in a few short nipples of pipe untill you get out fr0om under the hood and use a crome tail piece of drain pipe with the forty five on it and cut it off at the angle.

I have a 310-8, and it's one of my favorite tractors. Plenty of power, and it's fairly fuel efficient. Most reliable tractor I have as well. If it's got gas, and the battery is charged, we're working!

I haven't seen many of them like your's, with the all red hood. But I know there are bunches of 310s out there.

Good looking machine! :banghead:

I am very fortunate to have all of the owner's manuals and even the pre sale check list but I don't have a receipt so I don't know where he got it. I guess I could walk up there and ask, the original owner only lives 3 houses up from me. We do not have many good mower dealers close by :banghead: but I would love to be able to find a blade. I'm hoping that we may have a member close by that may have one for sale. :omg: I do not know much about the stack, it looks like there is a flange holding the muffler on, so if I take it off, can I screw in some pieces of pipe? :USA: If so, that will make the whole "stack" thing a little easier.

Thanks to all for their suggestions and their help!

I have a 85' with an all red hood, but could never figure out what is symbolic about it. I have added a rear lift and a highth adjustment. Thought that maybe it ment that it was sold as a lawn mower more then a garden tractor. I use it like a garden tractor with a tiller, snow plow, a 10" single bottem plow, a chipper/composter, and all the pull around equipment that I have. When I got it it was a basket case. I had to replace the upper dash section and tighten up to many bolts( dont know what the guy that had it before me was thinking with so many loose bolts). I have a D200 and a GT14 also but use this one more then the others. Nice to see another one with the red hood and it does look nice.

Good Luck, P.J.
