520H Mower Deck

Recommended Posts

Woodsie

Bought a '91 ish 520H for $150.  4 new tires.  Had to fix the infamous Onan valve seat.  Disconnected all "safety" switches

and 50 gauges. (wiring was cannibalized) Only thing not on this thing is an indicator to show deck height.  In other words, nothing to show deck level when you lower the hydraulic lift, to lower it to the same level each time. Think my dad's old Wheelhorse had a little lever that moved, and a label with numbers on it. anybody have any input on this like a picture of hookup or part itself?  I have no clue what the deck model # is but guessing they are all the same with hydraulic lift.

There are several different decks that will work on the 520 and other tractors.

42" side, rear, and recycler. 48" side discharge and with recycler insert. 60" side discharge.

Deck height is controlled by varying the setting of wheels on deck, not how far down you lower it.

Got any pictures of the tractor and deck.

well maybe somethin else is goofy. when i lower it all the way even adjusting the back deck wheels, the front of the deck goes

clear down against the ground.

Sounds like you are missing the leveling rod on the rear of the deck or its way out of whack..... The leveling rod lifts the front of the deck off the ground and holds the deck about level. The deck should sit about an 1/8" lower in the front then the back. The rod is adjustable to allow for this setting. I will try to post a picture or you can look up the deck manual in the manual section of the forum.

You do not necessarily have this mower but the hookup should be the same
