Ashley Stahl 0 #1 Posted May 10, 2014 My husband came to possess a 1984 (?) workhorse gt1100 last year that really needs a lot of work. One of the main things that it needs is a new seat. Can anyone tell me where to get one? I would like to get it for a Father's Day gift but am seriously in over my head right now because I know NOTHING whatsoever about these tractors. Please help!!!!! Sparky-(Admin) 23,147 #2 Posted May 10, 2014 The most important thing with a seat is the bolt pattern underneath it (and that its not yellow!). It should have the left right bolts at 7-1/2" apart and the front to back at 7" apart. Mike............
slammer302 2,156 #3 Posted May 10, 2014 I know what I want for fathers day now!!!!! Most farm and home stores have seats
Tankman 3,523 #4 Posted May 10, 2014 I have used a number of seats from Tractor Supply Co. Take a peek-a-boo here: http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/high-back-steel-pan-lawn-tractor-seat
KC9KAS 4,744 #5 Posted May 10, 2014 I have purchased a couple of nice seats from RURAL KING and they have had multiple bolt hole patterns on the seat, so they will fit just about every pattern. Rural King, Tractor Supply, Big Blue, just about any Farm & Family store will have them for sale. Usually from $40 up to $200 if you are looking for something very nice! Ashley Stahl 0 #6 Posted May 10, 2014 Sparky, I have no idea what yellow or the bolt pattern is. I took a picture of the seat but am not sure how to put it up.
BGrizzleC105 5 #7 Posted May 14, 2014 Welcome to the club and to find the bolt pattern take a tape measure in between the bolt holes and as far as yellow he mean don't by a John Deere seat to put on there that would be like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.
Ashley Stahl 0 #8 Posted May 15, 2014 Yeah, I got the yellow reference after my husbands cousin explained it to me. I swear to God, I really am a smart person! (The sad part is that I am a John Deere girl so you would have thought that I would have gotten that right away.) Anyway, you guys are all absolutely wonderful and thank you for the help. I plan on remaining a member because my husband absolutely LOVES his wheelhouse tractors. (I will admit that red tractors aren't bad!) thank you all again for the help. (By the way: I found a seat in the Northern Tool catalog.)
