no spark internal ign.

I have a tejunkseh 6 hp on a lawn ranger l-156. had intermittent spark,it would come and go while cranking engine. put a new coil-mag on and new points set at .020,new condencer,no spark at all now anyone know what causes that??.

Check the condenser. If it wasn't changed out when you changed points, that needs done. Also go back over your wiring looking for worn or open insulation as well as good connections. After that, check the coil. Make sure you have voltage to it and if so, pull it and look to see if it may be open.

If it was intermittent then after working on it, it is completely gone, I'm guessing it is a wire issue somewhere but the condenser is the first thing I would replace simply because you also changed points.

thankyou boovuc, I changed condencer 2 new ones and checked wires 2 times was getting intermittent spark before I changed any to new parts.and put all new parts in at onece.thats what doesn't make since to me.

:twocents-02cents:  All assuming older style adjustable magneto:

Verify timing if moveable point stator box if you removed stator-coil-point assembly.

Verify timing if moveable point stator box if you removed stator-coil-point assembly.

Double check point gap, check no residue on contacts even though new.

Insure good ground to coil stator, points, and condenser.

Insure good spark plug and lead integrity (nicks, cuts)

Check to insure key on crank not sheared or moved.

Check that magnets on flywheel are good, sounds like this is magneto engine with charging coil for battery for starter.

Regroup, have a cup and try again! :handgestures-thumbup:
