My D-200 "the Beast" running on half power

Well a not so funny thing happen today with my D200 “the Beastâ€.  As I was just finishing mowing and heading back to the stable, the D-200 went to like half power all by itself.  The throttle did not change positions, the tractor just went from ¾ throthe a high RPM to what I would call half power mid range RPM, like it was running on just one cycler.

I did the following

1. Checked and made sure that both cyclers were operating, and they were.
2. Clean the both the dry element and precleaner in the air intake, no change.  With the air cleaner removed, the tractor still would only go to half power with the throttle all the way open.

I haven’t gone any farther with my trouble shooting, cause I could easily fine myself looking in all the wrong places.   Has anyone else had this type of problem with the tractor just going to about half power on its own?  Could it because by lack of fuel? A vacuum leak?  A, I hope not, governor problem?  If this was an older type car, I might look at the carburetor.

 

 

ps  I let it cool down, restarted it later and it was running like normal.  I hope the problem is gone, but i don't think so.

Sounds like one cylinder died... my 180 has done similar and it would be a bad spark plug or wire.

Have you took each spark plug out and checked the spark gaps?  Another thing may be to see if you have a sticking valve, are you able to do a compression check? Mark.

I've not done any more then what I listed above, but I'll check those things out the the am.  Thanks
