dewdew 10 #1 Posted May 1, 2014 I'm trying to take my hydro pump out. The shaft is broken so I don't need to move the motor yet. But there are 4 steel lines running into the bottom that look like they go into a manifold. How do I separate the two?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,474 #2 Posted May 1, 2014 I can't answer your question but it may be in this tractor service manual. Section 5 is for the transmission and I see they mention Section 4 (engine) for part of it. Here is the transmission service manual if you don't have it. "D"- Man 827 #3 Posted May 2, 2014 I have an 18 Automatic parts tractor that I have partially disassembled so I took some pics to sort of show the area where you mentioned. The four steel tubes are terminated into a rectangular block at both the hydro pump end and the hydro transaxle end. These pictures are of the 4 tube manifold assembly connected to the underside of the hydro pump. Note two bolts are Allen socket head, and two are normal hex head. If I remember correctly there are 4 "O" ring seals that are stacked on 4 square section type back-up rings (2 large & 2 small) for a total of 1 "O" ring and 1 square section type back-up ring per tube end. This is very similar to a D-160 set up.
shorts 182 #4 Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) the manifold should have probably 4 bolts going into the pump, their will be 4 O-rings to seal the tubes, Edited May 2, 2014 by shorts
pfrederi 18,667 #5 Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) If you have an FEL or Rear PTO remove them first...it will make life a lot easier. Also buy a 5/16" extended allen socket (3/8" drive). That will save a lot of 4 letter words. There are 4 o rings that can be sourced locally. There are however two rectangular Back up rings that I have not found locally but you can get from Toro Edited May 2, 2014 by pfrederi
