The Walri 4 #1 Posted April 20, 2014 Had the horse out today for the first mowing of the season and gave it a bath after...couldn't resist freshening her up with some turtle wax I had laying around the garage. just curious if I'm being a little eccentric here. wfrpalm 217 #4 Posted April 20, 2014 My 875 is too dulled out to wax but I have a JD LX277 that I wax at the start of the season.

Pollack Pete 2,273 #9 Posted April 20, 2014 I wax everything.Even wax my 40 year old Lincoln portable welding machine.I guess that's why it still looks brand new.
squonk 38,952 #10 Posted April 20, 2014 When my B-I-L moved into his house he bragged how the 1950's furnace was waxed by the old guy who lived there and you could shave yourself with the reflection. It blew up his first winter!
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,041 #11 Posted April 20, 2014 Believe it or not I actually do wax my tractors if they have non porous paint... And those that do not get the salad dressing...

dodgemike 52 #13 Posted April 20, 2014 I admit being OCD. You can run a buffer over Sunrise Red. The trick is to use a mild compound! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk
Tankman 3,515 #14 Posted April 21, 2014 Seldom wax my truck or car. I do, perhaps once a year, apply a little wax by hand to fenders and hoods on the Stallions. Don't you groom and shoe as needed Horses?
js5020 111 #15 Posted April 21, 2014 I don't even wax my truck! Neither do I. But the tractors, they get waxed.

doc724 924 #17 Posted April 21, 2014 All my workers get a nice paste wax once per year. However, I am a cyclist and we use this stuff called "Bike Lust" to wax and protect the bike frames from sweat. It is a silicone pump spray. Spray it on a clean rag, wipe it on the tractor (after it has been washed). It dries is less than 5 minutes then wipe with a clean soft cloth. Nice shine and it is quick. However, since it is silicone, don't spray it anywhere near any electrical parts (like the fuse holder)!
ben06351 19 #18 Posted April 21, 2014 I wax mine I don't want them getting any worse. My dad still waxes his Troy-Built tiller every year and it's from the 70's. Shes a beauty. Hey at least the color is right.
AMC RULES 36,945 #19 Posted April 22, 2014 One owner machine, PO worked it it's whole life... and all I've done was wax the bejezus out of it.
47JDG 65 #20 Posted April 22, 2014 No, dirt and dust stick to wax. I know a guy who restored a Farmall M, then waxed it and took it out into the field on a dry day pulling a disc. It wasn't red anymore by the time he was finished. I couldn't believe how the wax caused the dust to stick...much worse than if it wasn't.
