prondzy 3,889 #1 Posted April 8, 2014 I have a 551 that will not disengage the belt when I push the clutch. Belt too short? What belt number are you running? I'm just trying to find out what others are running for comparison
Jake Kuhn 1,579 #2 Posted April 8, 2014 are you running a belt guard on the tractor? If you are not, you will need to make some kind of finger that will stop the belt and attach it to the idler pully.
prondzy 3,889 #3 Posted April 8, 2014 I have a belt guard that I need to fix up. Right now the tractor doesnt have one on. So I just need a finger over the idler that makes sense but still not much belt slack. A belt number to verify would be great! Thanks Jake!

hcminis 1,700 #6 Posted April 9, 2014 just my experience with the 550...I have to use a 1/2"x30". Anything smaller won't disengage the drive even with a belt guard and "finger".

I have always had to run 30's as well, even though wheel horse says to use a 29 they don't seem to work right.
