Working Grass For A Change

Recommended Posts

leeave96

Aerated yesterday with my IH Cub Cadet, tonight broke out the 314-8 and over seeded and fertilized.

My Wife/Boss like it because it makes for a lush green yard, I like it because it makes for more seat time... ;)

I bought the Scott's spreader for a few bucks at a yard sale a few years ago, but it works like a champ!

Gear drive is nice for consistent spreading of grass seed and fertilizer.

The snow just left here, but got freezing rain yesterday. Everything is a mud hole yet.

I am jealous! We still have snow banks and wet, muddy, brown grass here! Another 3-4 weeks and we will start getting green.

Snow blades are still mounted, plan to grade a bit.

Been pullin' a rake, hand mind you, spring tooth pullin' stone from the soon to be grass. Dozing snow misplaced my stone drive somewhat.

Using a 48" SD deck is nice but, need a 12" deck. "Honest Hon, I'll be in to paint the bedroom soon as I get finished mowing the lawn."   :laughing-rofl:

Yea, no grass visible here either, just snow.

My sump pump has just started running quite often so the frost must be breaking under the snow however.

It's raining hard here now but supposed to clear up and be sunny and warm this weekend (+10C or +50F) so that should knock the snow down.

Adding to the fleet this weekend, more on that later.

Green grass galore here this morning. It was 80 degrees and Sunny yesterday. Thinning down the herd this morning. One of my best friends from way back wants to be a Wheel Horse guy. I love it that we will have one more thing in common!

But anyway back to the grass. Bill, you are getting a jump start on me! You got it lookiing good up there in Virginia!

Had lots of stones this year. I use a push broom to get most of them. Brush them right into Elvis's bucket. I finish up with the rake. It's easier on the grass
