tramphardrocker 5 #1 Posted April 2, 2014 By happenstance I found and bought a 1980 c-125 complete with a OEM hydraulic loader bucket (07-40FL01). I was driving thru a neighborhood and saw it in a yard. The owner (old timer) was outside so I stopped to talk to him about it and ending up buying it. I have fooled around with craftsman tractors, my favorite being an old gt6000 with a Kohler 18hp engine. You couldn't give me a new EPA ruined tractor if you wanted to. This is my first wheel horse and would appreciate any opinions, criticisms or advice regarding this tractor. Is it a diamond in the rough? Or did my $900 go to waste? It is completely functional and well maintained. It has sat outside for a long time so the Arizona sun did a number on the paint. I can't seem to shift it into low range though. Is it an easy fix? Any input from anyone out there is appreciated.
Racinbob 11,929 #2 Posted April 2, 2014 OK, learn the rules. You gotta post pics or nobody here will believe you I'd say if it's in good shape you did real well with the loader on it. I forgot. I don't think the tranny issue is a big deal but you can be assured you'll get answers here. Welcome to RS.
posifour11 723 #3 Posted April 2, 2014 You got a heck of a deal. Usually, you can't find just the loader for that. The high/low shifter is supposed to be an easy fix. I haven't done it. Does require pulling the transmission, though. And welcome! This is a great group.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,147 #4 Posted April 2, 2014 First... Second....don't force it into low range, it might get stuck there and that would stink. Stuck in hi-range is not nearly as bad. If you are tempted to try for low range it must be done with the tractor not moving at all, the same goes for shifting back into hi-range. These are not shift-on-the-fly transmissions. Mike.......... tramphardrocker 5 #10 Posted April 4, 2014 So I've been trying to attach a picture of this tractor but can't get it done even as a zip file. Any body know how I can do this. I'm not exactly a computer whiz.

Racinbob 11,929 #14 Posted April 4, 2014 That worked tramphardrocker. Nice machine and I'd say well worth the price. As far as pictures, my camera has a 'small picture' button that creates a file size that a non-supporter can load. I did that prior to becoming a supporter. Now I can load any picture. Now that the disease has infected you there is no cure. All you can do if feed it with more Wheel Horses. I'm sure you'll have tons of questions and the great folks here will help you with a smile whether you're a supporter or not. I don't have a clue what it costs to run a site like this but it can't be cheap. I think it's well worth it. I'm on a lot of forums and this one is by far managed the best. And you get your user name in (almost) Wheel Horse red.

dcrage 630 #19 Posted April 4, 2014 So what is the set-up for the hydrolic pump since this is an 8-speed -- Wheel Horse sold this as an option?
MalMac 1,332 #20 Posted April 4, 2014 Has it's own pump mounted right off the PTO. On a bracket bolted to the block. You just engage your PTO like you would for any other attachment.
