Part Cross Referance Source

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to find some parts for the kid's Lawn Ranger and have the original part numbers, but cannot find a way to get the newer numbers that are used today. Toro was useless, a search on here found nothing and I can only find parts lists for the trans and mower online. :banghead:  Does anybody know of a source for crossing old numbers to newer? :confusion-scratchheadblue:

Try

http://www.partstree.com/parts/

If the part is still available it will be priced.

If there is a newer part number it should come up. Watch for Toro Consumer and Lawn Boy in th parts line. Have seen Wheel Horse parts come up as Lawn Boy only.

Both of these only show the trans and mower. I need throttle and choke cables, and the clutch rod and stud. I have tried about everything, but late '60s Rangers don't have anything listed anywhere. :angry-screaming:

You tried entering the part numbers?

Unfortunately the schematics are no longer supported except for the tranny and decks, but as Garry said, put in the part numbers.  If there is a new number, it should give it to you, but if the part is NLA, it will say discontinued.

Since all of the online part references are provided by ARI.NET, they are subject to what it's provided to them by Toro. If it's not on the Toro site, it's not going to be on the other online sites.

Having said that, I have found that even though they do not show the parts diagrams anymore for older models, if I have a part number and put it in, and that number has been updated and is still available, the new number will be shown.

What model number are you working on? I may have an illustrated parts list that has not been added to library here at RS yet.

If I had to take a stab at it, from previous posts I'd say he is working on a 1967 Lawn Ranger.

Old choke cable number 5560

New choke cable number 102118

Old throttle cable number 5561

New throttle cable number 102119

If you cross both 5560 and 5561, they come up with 102119. I think the above numbers are correct. They may be too long, but can be shortened as needed.

Clutch rod is no longer available 2593...no surprise there it is 47 years old and part was probably unique to Rangers.

The stud 1861 is also NLA...but I have to look at mine I am not sure why a stud from a later model wouldn't work....

The 2593 clutch rod and 1861 stud which is also commonly named a threaded trunnion was also used on the 1971-1972 Raiders and the 1973 8-speed tractor models so finding used ones should not be all that hard.

Bob, you nailed it. It's a 1967 L-157 Ranger and the cables have the twist lock on them. I tried using the original numbers and came up empty. I have an illustrated parts list that came with the tractor when I got it from Dave ( FunEngineer) and was using the part numbers from that.

Everybody, thanks for the help during a time of severe hair pulling! :thanks:  I'll get the kid to start a thread on his tractor, he's doing most everything except blasting and painting.

Buckrancher, pm on the way.
