hutchie 3 #1 Posted March 26, 2014 what engine oil goes in our toro 11-32, wheelhorse c101 & c145 im curious if i can get away with general lawnmower oil or is there a certain viscosity?
rmaynard 14,924 #2 Posted March 26, 2014 The C-101 and C-145 both use straight 30W in temps above freezing, and 10W30 below freezing. However I run 30W year round and I had temps below 0 (Fahrenheit) this winter. The 11-32 has a Briggs and they have the following statement on their website: SAE 30 40° F and higher (5° C and higher) is good for all purpose use above 40° F, use below 40° F will cause hard starting. 10W-30 0 to 100° F (-18 to 38° C) is better for varying temperature conditions. This grade of oil improves cold weather starting, but may increase oil consumption at 80° F(27° C) or higher.
Cam-c121 6 #3 Posted March 26, 2014 Think I used 10/40 because I couldn't find any straight
squonk 38,989 #4 Posted March 26, 2014 I use straight 30W Rotella year round for everything. 20 years no problems.
