WheelHorse79 271 #1 Posted March 16, 2014 Despite the colder than normal winter weather, I have finally finished the freshen-up of the 1045 I bought last December. It still has a small leak where the two transmission halves meet at the hitch pin. Does anyone have the part number of this seal and/or know where I can get one? Thanks!
WheelHorse79 271 #2 Posted March 16, 2014 Here is a higher resolution picture. The RM-425 deck came with the double belt idler.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,482 #3 Posted March 16, 2014 That looks real nice. Here is the tractor OM and an ipl for the transmission. Sounds like you need the case gasket. Garry

can whlvr 994 #10 Posted March 16, 2014 nice lookin tractor,my personal favorite year, when you put the new gasket in it might be a good idea to use a small bit of gasket sealant also,i have split lots of unidrives and had a couple leak even after new oem gasket, maybe the cases arnt true or slightly warped,i just did a 414 rear and its weeping at the hitch area, just enough to make it so I have to pull it and do it again

pacer 3,177 #12 Posted March 16, 2014 Fine, fine, fine, mmm nice tractor! I got a C-100 few months ago and it had what appeared to be those tires on it and they were almost certainly original but they were too far gone dry rotted. I sure did like the looks of them. Hammerhead 817 #14 Posted March 16, 2014 Nice looking 1045 for sure! One of my personal favorite machines! Those factory front tires are hard to find. I got one set off of Joe's Outdoor Power once, they were remounted on a set of Cub Cadet rims and listed as Cub Cadet tires. I knew right away that they came from a rare 1045 and bought them fast! Nobody else figured it out. So really there is no where to get them unless they are old and used. Keep your eyes peeled and you might get lucky on Ebay. I bought every pair that showed up on Ebay over the years except one pair recently that a Redsquare member got because they got over my $100 budget. I have a few sets hoarded up since I have always wanted a few 1045's around. I put one set on my recently acquired 1045 and another set on my Army Horse. Other than that, they are rare as hens teeth!

JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,498 #16 Posted March 16, 2014 79,,,,,WOW says it all, fantastic job. That end product should put a smile on your face from ear to ear. Question, what size are those front tires that makes them so rare? I can keep my eyes peeled locally , if I see some to let you folks know. Glenn
WheelHorse79 271 #17 Posted March 17, 2014 Thanks for the kind replies everyone. I am surprised how different to 1045 seems from my 854. With the larger wheels and greater height, the 1045 feels larger and more substantial. I am also surprised how much power the RM-425 deck draws on the 10 HP Kohler even when it is just engaged and not mowing grass. I love this combination of two "odd balls", the 1045 and the RM-425. It's definitely something you don't see everyday. The front tire size is 16X5.50-8 which is an odd size. I used the tire paint from Miller Tire to clean up the tires and make them look better. As far as I can tell, the tires are all original. The front tires have a little dry rot, but not too bad. There is one front tire and rim for sale on Ebay, but it is a little expensive for me to buy as a spare.
