kohler k181 crankshaft seal replacement

i have a k181 and i did a new oil pan gasket but now i have oil leaking from the flywheel side i think its the crank seal and i was wondering if i can replace that without taking the crank out. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes. You can remove the seal and replace it without removing the crankshaft. If you have ever replaced an axle seal, it is essentially the same process. Carefully pry the old one out and after cleaning and lubricating the shaft, insert the new one. The new one should sit 1/32" below the edge of the bearing plate.
