520h gas guage question

Recommended Posts

I am cleaning out my gas tank on the 520.  The gas gauge works but I was wondering if it is anything I should do to the sending unit while I have the tank off of the tractor?

If its an in-tank sender, just check to see of any signs of leaking, if so you may need to reseal it :handgestures-thumbupright:

definetly remove the sender from the tank during the cleaning

if not then recheck the sender with an ohm meter to see if the resistive element in the sender still responds to the float movement.

check the demystification guide for expectations on full and empty ohm values. check for dead spots in the readings as you raise and lower the float. the readings should change smoothly

to make these mesurements, attach one ohm meter wire to the mounting plate and the other to the wire terminal on top of the plate.
