fran11784 0 #1 Posted February 27, 2014 I have a 1986 312A that I bought a new ignition switch for from Toro. When you turn the switch on you have to slowly turn it right till it hits a spot where it will crank. The local store I got it from changed it out for me but the same thing. We tested the switch off of the tractor and it has a spot where It makes connection. Anybody have a similar problem? I think it's a run of bad switchs. wallfish 18,096 #2 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) If the "sweet spot" is not when the key is turned all the way to the right, it seems like a problem with the switch. Kind of odd that it would happen with 2 switches. What was wrong with the original switch you replaced? Same thing? fran11784 0 #3 Posted February 27, 2014 No, the original was just worn out and would stick. But it did start fine. It's got to be the switch. I bought this tractor new in 86 and never one single issue ever till this...
