leeave96 490 #1 Posted February 26, 2014 Without a doubt, my 1992 520H with swept forward axle is the most comfortable riding garden tractor I've ever owned. Does anyone else feel the 520H tractors with swept forward axle just has a very comfortable/smooth ride too? Unless I'm just imagining it in my pea brain and it really ain't so, what makes this tractor different than my 314-8 as an example? Is it the wider trac of the front axle, wider tires on the rear, slightly longer wheelbase due to the swept fwd front axle or slightly wider front tires or all three???? Hodge71 665 #2 Posted February 26, 2014 Its all opinion Bill and I honestly never drove a swept 520, I drove a 520 HC without the swept axle which Im sure is way different. I am pretty partial to the ride on my 18 Automatic. I guess maybe because of the weight and bigger operating area. But its pretty comfy to mow and plow in compared to my 416H or C-160 8speed. I drove a 523 DXI at a dealer a couple years ago and it even beat my 18 Auto for comfort with the power steering and 2 speed rear end. smoreau 658 #5 Posted February 27, 2014 Air pressure and type of tires make a big difference in ride. my 520 that I bought from Kelly had a great ride with the stock tires. But my 90 with the 26-12-12 in the rear isn't so nice. I had a c125 that was nice and smooth, but my 417's are a little rougher with ags on the rear. papaglide 542 #7 Posted February 27, 2014 My 416 is the second most comfortable tractor that I have and the most comfortable horse that I have. Something about the steering wheel placement and angle and the seat location that puts my body in a very comfortable position. If I had a seat with the arm rests........ No offense to these fine steeds, but a cub that I use for the majority of grass cutting is, by far, the most comfortable tractor that I have.
