Torino 15 #1 Posted February 22, 2014 The frame and hydro are the same on a C-175 and a 520H, correct?
Hodge71 665 #2 Posted February 22, 2014 THat would be correct. If its a swept forward axle on the 520 then you have a different steering system with gear reduction. It was the "power steering" of its time
Torino 15 #3 Posted February 22, 2014 Now that was fast. Thanks, Hodge.
Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted February 23, 2014 If the 175 has the eaton trans yes, the frame will be except a few holes on the newer 520 frame, for the gear reduction steering
tractorbeast 27 #5 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) Is the 520 swept axle on other wheel horse large tractors like the GT-14 or the C-195 or D-series? Could someone post a link showing both front axles and a comparison. I've heard about these for years, but knowing the differences has eluded me. Is it the "bow" in the axle that makes it "swept" Edited February 23, 2014 by tractorbeast
boovuc 1,090 #6 Posted February 23, 2014 It is the "bow" in the axle as you stated with different components and heavier spindles, etc.. The forward-swept axle was only on the 520 for use with the 60 inch mower deck. It was never offered on the other tractors you mentioned above. Not all 520's have it either. They started with the HC tractor and were added after 1990 on all 520's if memory serves me well. (And it doesn't most of the time).
