zekepiks 8 #1 Posted February 20, 2014 I was just wondering if there is a tried and true method of fixing the plate that bolts the frame to the c 160 transmission without having to separate it and have it welded, I have acquired a fel and I know that as much as mine is cracked I should do something before I mount the fel Thanks for any replies in advance ,zekepiks

smoreau 658 #3 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Your best bet is to have it welded and add another plate on the front side if your putting a FEL on it. AND TO Edited February 20, 2014 by smoreau
daveoman1966 3,839 #4 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) This is how I fixed the frame plate on a 520H whick is almost the same as with the C-160. No welding required. Use 1/4 or 5/16 angle iron in corners of frame plate. You should replace the four original bolts with ones about 3/8" or 1/2" longer. Set the FRONT of the trans onto the 2x4 block to apply leverage and close the joint between frame plate and trans. whc160 80 #5 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Look up this topic. I have a pic and measurements for the plate that Toro used to offer. A local machine shop cuts them out for me on their laser jet cutter. Edited February 20, 2014 by whc160
